GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – The public kickoff of the Grand Prairie AirHogs’ 2012 season will be at QuikTrip Park on Saturday, May 12, as the AirHogs will hold a “meet and greet” night open to the public, packed with great events, food and fun.
The festivities will begin at 3 p.m. with a season-ticket holder and VIP meet and greet of the 2012 AirHogs roster. At 4 p.m., everyone is invited to join in and interact with and get to know the players, coaches and staff. At 5 p.m, the AirHogs players and the staff of their official charity, the David Nicklas Organ Donor Awareness Foundation, will split up sides and take to the field for a softball game, while fans can enjoy $2 hot dogs, hamburgers and beer on the concourse.
Afterwards, all are invited to the Fieldhouse Bar & Grill in leftfield for an after party.
During the day, fans can pick up their 2012 season tickets and sign up for a very special raffle opportunity. For a $10 ticket, you can win a personalized AirHogs 2011 championship ring – the very same ring that will be worn by the players and staff. All proceeds from the raffle will go to the Nicklas Foundation.
The 2011 American Association Champion Grand Prairie AirHogs begin the defense of their title on Thursday, May 17, against the Laredo Lemurs at 7:30 p.m. The 2012 home opener is Monday, May 21, at 7:05 p.m. against the El Paso Diablos.
