Before that, he was the Vice President of Communications for the Fort Worth Cats.

Hatchett has broadcast a variety of sporting events in the DFW area for over 25 years.  He was on WBAP Radio from 1984-1999 where he served as afternoon sports anchor and sports talk show host. During his 15-year tenure on WBAP, Hatchett broadcast college football and basketball games for SMU, Baylor, TCU and his alma mater, the University of North Texas.
